I needed to get out and have a good time. On Friday night, I was just flat out depressed. So even though Bill wasn't coming out, I decided to head to Mobin's place and go in to Garage with him. Before I even got there it started...
Let's run down the list of things that happened:
- My car ran out of petrol 2 blocks from Mobin's house.
- While trying to fix it, I lost the wingnut off of the air filter.
- The next day after I bought a new wingnut, the car was coughing and spluttering at idle.
- While picking up MC Meowz from the city, I found the old wingnut!! While this sounds like good news at first, it really isn't because the wingnut is INSIDE THE ENGINE!
- We manage to limp the car over to my Garage where I plan to get it towed on Monday.
- Now we're waiting for a lift back to my house to go over the tunes for the night and get some practice in. We end up waiting so long that it never happens!
- The lack of practice ends up not being particularly relevant as I get so messy before the set that I end up not being able to perform (as it were ;-) and so I need people to cover the set for me
At least the show went well on Sunday and thanks to some particularly caring folks on Saturday night, I was feeling rather good. And that's how it ends. Feeling better about life the universe and everything despite what on any other weekend would've been an absolute disaster. Of course I haven't seen the car repair bill yet... |
