Title: Special 2003 - Lee-Cabrera Label: Credence
This duo seems to have been very busy in the studio recently, with their own track “Shake It (Move a Little Closer)” being one of my highlights for 2003, and a considerable number of remixes being released in the last 6 months. There is a number of remixes of “Special” available, but it appears that the Gambafreaks Remix is the choice remix. Gambafreaks have been relatively quiet since the massive track “Down Down Down” came out in 2000. Special launches straight into vocals which may annoy some DJ’s or force some to drop it at the start of the sets. The tracks begins with a build up that tricks the listener into thinking a big cheesy dookum hard track is on its way. But alas, the track breaks into a big Kid Creme influenced house track. Good but not great track. There is a limited Lee-Cabrera vocal remix available that has a nice latin edge, but again, is merely good but not great.
