Having had success as part of Full Intention as well as with the tracks The Weekend and Borderline, Gray follows up with a gorgeous synth led track. Building slowly before the bassline drops, Somewhere is a simple track featuring a melancholic breakdown, suiting the earlier sets.

This big room string led track is anthemic to say the least. With similarities to his remix of Strings of Life, Mark Knight has produced a huge track with progressive twist featuring moving chordal progressions, some nice effects and breakdowns and the occasional spoken “house music” as a subtle reminder. A track to watch over summer.

A track not for the faint hearted, Morocco Festival is afterhours bliss. Tough beats heightened by some cool effects, the latest production from this amazing Barcelona duo is very much the sequel to their massive Is Killing Me. The track features frenetic dirty breakdowns that cause damage and a very sublime dark vocal twist to instil fear and corruption.

This underrated producer has recently been quite successful, in representing Hed Kandi in Belgium, as well producing the uplifting Adobe and a tough main room remix of Lost. Sexy Acid is a peak time acid workout, with strong beats and a dirty bassline that moves well. The main breakdown grabs attention, with the piercing acid effects taking the track to the next level.

A deceptively tough and uplifting remix by Axwell of Lorraine’s track is probably one of his finest efforts this year. A main room track that appeals even to those with more progressive tastes, the vocal is used sparingly but complemented well by lovely keys and chord progressions to generate a “feel good” sound. The arrangement is strong, with great movement and timely breakdowns that reveal the strength of the beats and production.

The latest release by the Toolroom Maestro is a very soulful sax laden track with a summer vibe, very different from what we have seen from Mark Knight for some time. Featuring spoken vocals, great chords and nice sax interludes, The Reason highlights the talent of its composer. The remixes are just as solid as the original, with Funkagenda, Roog & Greg (Hardsoul) and Richard F all supplying very different and strong remixes.

This huge track from 2000 gets a new lease of life from Mr Nelson. Similar to his remix of Solu Music’s Fade, Grant Nelson has gone for an anthemic feel with heavy emphasis on piano and strings. The bassline is punchy and driving with the vocals giving added depth to the huge breakdowns. Massive.

Yet another gorgeous track by this duo. My Life is a soulful indulgence that resonates with the dancefloor. Hardsoul had huge success with Back Together and My Life shares much in common. An uplifting and emotional house track with exceptional production, it features a focus on piano, strings and male vocal that works exceptionally well. Definitely a timeless track.

After having come to attention with Groovejet (If This Aint Love) in 2000, Spiller has been relatively quiet of recent. Jumbo is a funk styled house track with a distinct 70s feeks that bumps along. It is refreshing considering the current focus on electro edged tracks. Jumbo features some quirky synth effects that lift the track just that little bit more. Cool.

Seamus Haji has been prolific of late, having also recently remixed Duke’s So In Love With You and Tom Novy’s Take It. This remix is similar in feel to Take Me Away with emphasis on the catchy vocal hook. A decent and friendly club track, this electro-edge/upfront house track has plenty of potential.
