Hey guys I've been out of the scene lately due to a few personal issues, and also losing my desktop PC for quite some time, and hence my internet access...

Anyway I'm back on board now. Here's a few tunes I'm feeling at the moment.

1 Groove Junkies present Solaris - Sunshine/Sol Brillante - (Soul Excursion Dub).

Cruisy jazzy summery feel, maybe a bit late in the piece considering the state of the seasons, but anything with chicks singing 'sunshine' goes down well with a few cocktails.

2 Anthony Acid featuring Ruby - Sweat (Soul Avengerz Mix).

An absolute stomper. It's got that 'woman wronged stand up and fight' gospel feel, but not that tried, tested and tired 'you don't treat me no good, you ain't gonna get away with it' stuff! (Just jokes!) It's a different slant on that, positive 'get up and dance' feel. I'll be pumping this one out for a while. Ladies to the dance floor. It's got that typical good looking but meaty grooving feel underrneath from the Avengerz, the trademark clean cut build and breakdown doing the job. Similar to how '100 percent' is written.

3 Bobby Blanco & Miki Moto - Black Sugar (Warren Clarke Remix).

Stomper! Reminds me of a revamped "We All Love Sax", but with that mid range guitar riff with filtery effects that Clarke loves so much. Nice background crowd noises fill up the room - even if you can hear the crowd sample looping over. Nice one bruv. A large second breakdown teases back in the sax for a final send off that simply rocks the roof. Nice to see a sax solo tune with something more than a token beat underneath it. Room for an acapella drop over parts of the track...we'll see what happens.

4 Rasmus Faber featuring Melo - Get Over Here (Axwell Mix).

Have to admit it wasn't what I expected when I saw Axwell's name on this mix. I wasn't disappointed however. An atmospheric, almost New Age synth sound, works well. Surprising, becaue New Age isn't really New Age anymore. Gorgeous vocals with background vocals supporting. Floaty, feel good tune. Peak time yet warm and inviting. Reminds me of Take Me Away (Mauve Vocal Mix) from Stonebridge. Lovey feel good 'give me a cuddle Bill' sort of stuff.

Anyway that'll do for now...I get carried away with these little reviews I do.

Good to be back posting, and good to see everyone's been doing their thang.

Ben James.
