'ouse Music Anthem and Lesson (none / 0) (#4)

"Jack Your Body" is claimed by some to be the first ever House Music Number 1 Track in the world.

It was written in around 1985 by House legend Steve "Silk" Hurley, and made it to the Number 1 spot in the US and UK in 1987. Steve "Silk" Hurley was also responsible for many early house anthems, including "The Word is Love" and "Music is the Key".

The lyrics to "Jack Your Body" are straight forward: Click here for the lyrics a photo of Steve "Silk" Hurley

Along with Farley Jackmaster Funk's "Love Can't Turn Around", the track is considered to be a house music anthem and typifies the house sound (and chicago house sound) of the time. In 1986, Farley Keith hit it big with "Love Can't Turn Around," recorded as Farley Jackmaster Funk. However Hurley claimed the track was rip of one of his choons and they apparently stopped speaking with each other. Hurley got his revenge with the choon "Jack Your Body", which borrows the bassline from "Let No Man Put Asunder" by First Choice. "Jack Your Body" proved the most successful of the house tracks during the "jacking craze" of 1987.

So, in answer to your questions, yes I do but not often enough.

Mobin, I notice yet another instance of your dyslexia, but I agree that Crispian's obscure Simpsons reference is a little weird too.

So is Mobin dyslexic and Crispian weird? I think we have a little from Column A and a little from Column B.... : P
