Title: Coffee Beats Volume 3
Artist: Del Gado

Well coffee beats volume 1 is a cool track (if one can still find it). Coffee Beats Volume 2 was a huge track, thanks to Mr Sanchez placing it on his August- September 2002 “Release Yourself 2002” compilation. Later, Fluential released Cofee Beats Volume 2 it around January-February 2003 and later some “re-releases” came out with additional mixes/mash-ups. Coffee Beats Volume 3 is strong track and utilises the same formula as the two previous editions. That said, many will still prefer Volume 2.

Coffee Beats Volume 3 is a tough percussive house track, with reasonable production, beats and effects. The preference that some will have towards Volume 2 lies in the fact that Volume 2 has a more distinct and fatter bassline than Volume 3. I will stop the comparison there as it is unfair to compare Volume 3 to its predecessors. After all if Volume 3 came out under a different name one would realise that Volume 3 is still a great track with several layers of percussion. It is a thumping main room track that is dubby and has a cool groove to it, similar to the track See Da Light (After Dark EP) by the Soul Providers. Standard arrangement with intro, breakdown, main, breakdown, outro formula. The breakdowns have a minimal vocal afro chant thing included which goes away after the breakdown ends.

There is a dub version of the track too that is similar, with differences being an altered arrangement, slightly different percussion usage and more pronounced bassline. However the overall effect of the dub is a “deeper” track. Cool stuff.
