Title: Haven’t Been Funked Enough
Artist: Big Bang Theory

Seamus Haji churns out another tasty choon under the name Big Bang Theory. This track is in a similar vein to Do U Got Funk?, Ya Underwear and Work that Sucka. I have to admit, when I first heard this track I was a little unsure about whether I liked it or not. Its arrangement is different to the usual arrangements that we expect in a decent house track, with a long lead in that initially felt like it was going nowhere in particular. But the track grew on me very quickly.

Haven’t Been Funked features solid beats and decent production (both as expected). The bass line builds up slowly then opens up into a very funky rhythm indeed. The track contains nice strings and an interesting arrangement that is similar to several 70’s funk arrangements, going from the initial groove to a more “disco” type bridge/chorus. The track is not as energetic as other Haji offerings, but it is not intended to be so. Vocals are used nicely, the preacher vocals being complemented by sweetly “sung” disco/funk vocals. A nice funky, yet minimal groove that works well in vocal and funky sets.
