Originally released a couple of years back, this track became anthemic in the NYC scene yet largely unrecognised elsewhere. Exacta’s reinterpretation for 2007 to be released on Subliminal later this year hits the spot. Sublime piano and then uplifting strings create a sense a movement in this track. The breakdown is attention grabbing before unleashing into some driving beats.
All About Housemusic – Noir (Amesz & Gelderblom Rmx)

Noir’s massive and amusing track gets the treatment by this formidable duo. Having risen to success with many huge productions, Amesz’s & Gelderblom’s take on All About Housemusic is no exception. Featuring trademark tough and twisted beats, most of the vocals are confined to the breakdown. Similar to other recent efforts, Amesz & Gelderblom have taken this one to the next level, creating a slamming mainroom version.

Finally getting released on Mark Knight’s Toolroom after buzzing for some time, San Francisco is a twisted, tough and slightly electrified track suited to mainrooms. Having established himself as one of the UK’s best producers having produced, reworked and remixed many of house music’s biggest tracks from the UK in the last couple of years, Funkagenda has demonstrated his talents in his own right with San Francisco.

Having received some attention when first released last year, the track has now received strong support courtesy of Martijn Ten Velden. This version is a dirty and stomping monster, which uses the vocals more wisely and effectively with several build ups and breakdowns throughout the track. As a result, the track maintains a driving momentum with the bassline set to get the most fickle punters moving.

Originally released in late 2006, the Eddie Thoneick remix gives Guilty a new lease of life. The sublime big room vocals are introduced early in the track of some slammin beats, before launching into a funky yet big room version. The bassline is reminiscent of other Thoneick remixes and also Axwell’s take on Star Baby. The main breakdown is spine tingling, especially when the sax is introduced.

Reworking the classic Mr Fingers “Can You Feel It” track from the mid 80’s, Grant Nelson has produced a version which is true to the original yet highly relevant for today’s dance-floors. The tough beats are complemented by a bassline guaranteed to get feet movin and hips shakin.

The latest release from the Sanchez-Stealth camp is mainroom bliss. The production can’t be beat. Featuring an infections rhythm and great effects, Steve Angello’s remix is the pick of the mixes for this very strong track. Very much in the vein of his remixes for Alex Neri or DJ Rooster & Sammy Peralta, Hypnotize will find favour with both house heads and those with more electrified tastes.

The latest release by the House music pioneer is a quality main room effort. The beats are driving, and laden with a deep bassline, cool synths and a cut up vocal that is exceptionally effective. A decent breakdown adds to the strength of this great track.

Anyone who has listened to SoulGood and my sets will note my liking for offerings by these talented producers. Their rework of the Chilli Peppers (which is sometimes tiled as "Waiting For") is effective and uplifting, with the vocals used well but not excessively. The strings and effects add that extra dynamic to this sky reaching floor filler.

Following up on the massive success of Discoteka, Scream is a tough and twisted offering. The pick of the mixes is the Kobbe & Austin Leeds version, a tough mainroom track slammin beats and effective breakdowns. The addictive vocal hook complements the beats and is used well.
