Reworking Salome De Bahia’s “Outro Lugar” track from a few years ago (which in turn sampled Stevie Wonder), The Chant is a simple track yet effective track which fuses a number of different influences. With elements of latin as well as electrified and percussive sounds, The Chant is sure to do well with its instantly recognisable hooks, and indeed moved Outro Lugar into a more main room environment.

An infectious, moody and seductive main room track, Rachael Starr’s vocal lend themselves perfectly to the chromatic chord progressions. Featuring gorgeous string and chordal arrangements, David Vendetta has once again done exceptionally well in creating a big track that will appeal to the ladies whilst not losing any edge or toughness.

Having had success recently with Rymd/Armed release, Eric Prydz’s latest release is stronger, more hypnotic and destined for the big rooms and afterhours clubs. Both tracks feature Prydz’s production prowess, mastering the ability to use electrified sounds with an emotional vibe. Probably up there with 321/123 (with Axwell) and Aftermath as Prydz’s strongest release.
Let Me Think About It – Ida Corr (Fedde Le Grand Rmx)

Set to do well on radio as well as dancefloors, Fedde has supplied a infectious track featuring a very funky bassline and swing, great effects and cut ups and with the simple yet not overbearing vocals doing the trick. Showing off his production talent, Fedde has reworked this track that is going to receive much attention.

The house classic from 2000 gets the update by producer extraordinaire Axwell. The disco element is gone, with Axwell’s production talent shining through to create a tough and swinging mainroom track. The vocals are used sparingly and cut up to great effect, with the keys and effects complementing the vocals exceptionally well.

A release that features some decent tough and electrified remixes, Workidz has outdone them all with this tough and dirty tribal slammer. The vocal is used sparingly, with the breakdowns and effects carrying the track exceptionally convincingly in turn executing mayhem on an unsuspecting dancefloor. A tech-tribal afterhours monster.
Show Me Love – Mobin Master ft Karina Chavez (Tribal Funk Rmx)

Mobin’s 2007 update is sure to do well, with both the Club and Safari mixes well suited to most dancefloors. However the pick of the mixes is Mobin’s Tribal Funk remix. An exceptional production that shares virtually nothing with the original Robin S/ Stonebridge production, tribal beats are the flavour, with grinding effects, a sliced vocal and elated keys turning this track into an afterhours stomper.
Born Slippy – Underworld (Joe K, Wady & Patrick M Rmxs)

Sure to do well in more mainstream environments as well as in afterhours sets, this “electro-house” release is actually well arranged and tough, with teases of the familiar classic chords thrown in a couple of times. The breakdown is timely, exciting and uplifting, complete with crowd screams just to reinforce the point. A solid remix sure to get many plays over the next few months.

A fan of Gian aka Kurd Maverick for several years now, Strings of Tortuga is the pinnacle of house fusion, bringing elements of latin, electro and upfront chordal sounds. The fusion is best demonstrated in the breakdown, which is attention grabbing and builds nicely, showing off Kurd Maverick’s exemplary production.

After remixing and producing so many tracks during 2006, Angello has been quiet of recent. However with strong releases including Get Dumb (with Axwell, Ingrosso & Laidback Luke) and Umbrella (with Ingrosso), 2007 is lining up to be bigger. Umbrella is a flamenco styled mainroom monster that kicks. Complemented by a great string arrangement in the main build up, Umbrella is sure to do well.
